I thought that we could make it If I’m honest I’m scared that we lost it We lost the thing we shared But still I do, oh I still feel for you But I can’t look past all the times You looked past me You put yourself first So I guess this is goodbye We had our time How to get out of such a shit show I don’t know where we went wrong But I’m taking care of myself from now on Got to learn how to move on How to get out of such a shit show I’m wondering where we went wrong But I’m taking care of myself from now on Moving on, I’m moving on I will take a left here I see you going right after the things you want When I thought that I was what you wanted But lately oh you seem so distant Your touch it feels different Your loving is distant Your love it is missing How to get out of such a shit show I don’t know where we went wrong But I’m taking care of myself from now on Got to learn how to move on How to get out of such a shit show I’m wondering where we went wrong But I’m taking care of myself from now on Moving on, I’m moving on You go right and I I will go, I will leave How to get out of such a shit show I know exactly what went wrong So I’m taking care of myself from now on Moving on

This doesn’t seem to be the time for loving But I‘ll do it anyway No matter how broken the world is I was broken and now look at me This could’ve gone so differently But I’m happy to be lying here with you Let’s hide under the covers Read the news tomorrow What if Everything is temporary Nothing is forever Let me believe in you Let me believe in me What if None of this is temporary Everything’s forever Let me believe in that Let me believe in us Your way of seeing the world Is so pure it makes me jealous at times But when you feel pain It’s the realest thing That I’ve seen in a while If there was a way That I could put an end to this madness That is happening now Believe me I would If it did any good I’d sing this song another hundred times What if Everything is temporary Nothing is forever Let me believe in you Let me believe in me What if None of this is temporary Everything’s forever Let me believe in that I want to believe that Everything’s forever Oh let me be naive at times I want to be believe in things That are worthwhile Things like you and I

about

This spring Hannover-based alternative-soul artist Joy Bogat releases two new songs forming a double-A-side connected by a bridge part.

„Left and Right“ (April 14th) is much more than just a break-up song, as it acknowledges the pain of parting ways with someone and the importance of prioritizing self-care. Accompanied only by piano, Joy Bogat's fragile, sometimes resentful voice and heartfelt lyrics convey the message that it is okay to say goodbye when a shared future only holds pain. While listening, "Left and Right" reminds you that sometimes moving on is the best decision for oneself. Bogat's focus on self-care is a consistent theme in her music, and "Left and Right" truly fits her prior path as an artist. The song is an ode to finding the strength to finally leave, even if you're unsure where to head next.

The song is followed by "1974", out April 28th. Inspired by Elif Shafak's novel "The Island of Missing Trees", the song is a heartwarming reflection on loving during times of uncertainty and trouble. With layers of vocals, piano, and a minimalistic beat, "1974" is a testament to the pure feeling of trust and the belief that everything/nothing is temporary. Bogat's sincere lyrics and soulful voice capture the essence of love in a world that seems to be falling apart. The song invites listeners to embrace the moment and find hope in the simplest things. "1974" is a beautiful reminder that love and trust can conquer all.
